• Lambda: average arrival rate (we can’t really change this)
• W: time spent in the system (we can change this!)

This leads us to want smaller batch sizes (lower time spent in the system per ticket). Also related to kanban b/c that tends to have work in progress (WIP) limits which should lead to smaller batch sizes.
